1 - Crushing

Once the 'cossettes' (dried slices of chicory) have been expertly dealt with by our Master roasters, they are left to cool and then crushed using a grinding mill: this produces our Chicory Granules.

2 - Extraction

For some Leroux products the chicory needs to be "liquefied". For this, the crushed, roasted granules are sent to the extractors, where they are immersed in water heated to about 80°C. The chicory juice is then filtered, centrifuged and concentrated using evaporation. The end-result? Leroux Liquid Chicory!

3 - Pulverisation

Our Soluble Chicory is produced by pulverising Liquid Chicory extract at the top of a 37-metre tower. The Chicory Liquid extract is then dried by a current of hot air that sweeps round the inside of the tower, producing a fine, silky-smooth powder.

4 - Packing

Leroux uses a range of cutting-edge packing methods to meet your expectations as fully and effectively as possible. Once packaged, your favourite Leroux products are ready for you to taste. Enjoy!
